VISA.NET Shared Components (64-Bit) is a set of runtime libraries and .NET assemblies that provide a vendor‑neutral API for VISA (Virtual Instrument Software Architecture). It enables 64‑bit .NET applications to discover, connect to, and control test and measurement instruments over common interfaces such as GPIB, USB (USBTMC), serial (ASRL), and TCP/IP.

Key points:

• Supplies the .NET interfaces and shared infrastructure used by instrument control applications and drivers built against the VISA/.NET API.
• Works alongside a compliant VISA implementation from your chosen vendor (for example, NI‑VISA or Keysight IO Libraries). It does not include a VISA driver by itself.
• Supports standard VISA resource strings (e.g., GPIB, USB, ASRL, TCPIP) for broad instrument compatibility.
• Intended for 64‑bit .NET processes; a separate 32‑bit edition is typically required for 32‑bit applications.
